Alexis and Marina’s Love Story

In the summer of 2017, Marina & Sierra (Marina’s sister & the maid of honor) went on a sisters’ trip to Cancun. They went Extreme Adventure for a zip line/ATV/cenote tour & their tour guide was...ALEXIS!

Alexis and Marina continued to meet up for the rest of the vacation. They did not expect their connection to be so meaningful and so instantaneous. They found themselves texting or calling each other every day after Marina left! 2 months later Marina came back to celebrate Alexis's birthday. During this 2nd trip, they decided to start dating and Marina semi-accidentally met the Alexis whole family. Despite the language barrier, as Marina did not speak Spanish when she met them, the entire Noh family accepted Marina and she has truly felt like a part of the family ever since! 

A few months after Alexis decided to move to Tijuana to be near Marina for her last year of college at UC San Diego. Alexis joined Marina’s side of the family in California for Thanksgiving and Christmas, where he quickly won over the hearts of everyone in the family as well. 

After Marina graduated, they knew borders would continue to be a challenge. They embraced this and have traveled to many countries together. Unfortunately, Alexis physically lost his US tourist Visa card; which prompted the move to Cancún in January of 2020! During the global pandemic, they fostered many sick puppies and eventually adopted 3 of the foster dogs. Hercules, Rocky, and Biggie have made their love grow even stronger as they have all 5 become a little family!

A quick note from the bride & groom: We are excited to welcome all of you to celebrate our love in the city we call home! We are sorry this is far away for many of you, thank you so much for traveling and for your patience. We hate to burden any of you, but sadly Alexis still cannot enter the US . Please know we deeply value community and we consider everyone invited to the wedding as part of our community! With that in mind please treat everyone you meet during our celebration with respect and love. We encourage everyone to meet new people throughout the celebrations, and are happy to help with any translations!

En el verano de 2017, Marina y Sierra (hermana de Marina y la dama de honor) fueron de viaje solas a Cancún. Hicieron un tour de Extreme Aventure de tirolesas/ATV/cenote y su guía fue… ALEXIS!

Alexis y Marina continuaron viéndose durante el resto de las vacaciones. No esperaban que su conexión fuera tan significativa e instantánea. Se encontraron enviándose mensajes o llamándose todos los días después de que Marina se fuera. ¡Dos meses después, Marina regresó para celebrar el cumpleaños de Alexis! Durante este segundo viaje, decidieron comenzar su releacion oficialmente y Marina conoció a toda la familia de Alexis (medio accidentalmente jaja). A pesar de la barrera del idioma, toda la familia Noh dio la bienvenida a Marina, y desde del primer día ella se ha sentido completamente parte de la familia!

Unos meses después, Alexis decidió mudarse a Tijuana para estar cerca de Marina durante su último año de su universidad en San Diego (UCSD). Alexis conocío a la familia de Marina en California para celebrar Thanksgiving (un día de festiva Estadounidense) y Navidad, donde rápidamente ganó el respecto de todo la familia de Marina también.

Después de Marina se graduó, sabían que las fronteras seguirían siendo un desafío. Hicieron lo mejor con esta realidad, y por eso han viajado a muchos países juntos. Desafortunadamente, Alexis perdió su visa turistica, y los motivó mudarse a Cancún en enero de 2020. Durante la pandemia global, cuidaron y entrenaron a muchos cachorros callejeros bien enfermos y eventualmente adoptaron a tres de los perros en pension. ¡Con Hércules, Rocky, y Biggie, los 5 se han convertido en una pequeña familia y su amor crezca aún más!

Una nota de los novios: ¡Estamos emocionados a celebrar nuestro amor con ustedes en nuestra ciudad! Lamentamos que esto esté lejos para muchos de ustedes, muchas gracias por todos que viajarán. ¡Valoramos profundamente comunidad y consideramos a todos los invitad@s a nuestra boda como parte de nuestra comunidad!
