Frequently asked questions. Preguntas Frecuentes

English

  1. Will there be children at the wedding? While we dearly love our nieces and nephews, we have decided to have an adults-only wedding. We want all parents to be able to enjoy the day without worrying about the safety of their little ones on the pier. We are inviting the direct nieces and nephews to our rehearsal dinner, so we can still celebrate with them!

  2. Dress code? This is a beachy, semi-formal event, while we do not expect guests to show up in gowns we would like to celebrate in style. No white or off-white dresses, please. Wear chunky heels, platforms, or flat-bottomed shoes. Like most piers, there are slots where a thin heal would get stuck in. Sunglasses & sunscreen are advised!

  3. What should I expect the weather to be like? It is hot and humid in Cancun year-round. March is a bit cooler than other months, so we suggest bringing a coat for the evening as the pier is on the lagoon and there is quite a breeze!

  4. Anything I should bring? In Mexico, it is typical to tip your servers and bartenders at weddings & there is a tradition where guests pin cash to the bride's veil (100% optional for both).

  5. Anything to keep in mind? Do not get into the lagoon or hang your feet off the pier, La Laguna Nichupte is home to many crocodiles. However, we are completely safe on the pier! Be mindful that no trash falls into the lagoon!

  6. Can I change my meal order on the day of the wedding? No :)

  7. Parking? We suggest Ubering and or taking a taxi if you are drinking, the legal drinking limit in Mexico is much lower/only about 1 beer. There is no parking at the event hall, but you can pay to park at Plaza Kukulcan https://maps.app.goo.gl/2dfh4jjizJuznvbdA and it’s a quick walk.

Travel-related FAQ:

  1. Can I drink the tap water? No, but any place that offers a cup of water id safe to drink. No one here drinks the tap water…not even our dogs. It is safe to use the tap water for watching dishes and brushing your teeth, but I do not suggest rinsing your mouth after.

  2. What about ice? Ice is safe & will always be made from potable water.

  3. Can I flush toilet paper?  No, please throw toilet paper in the trash. Cancun is only 54 years old and the pipes cannot take hardly any tp. It is polite to wrap up any gross tp.

  4. Should I bring cash? Yes! Pesos or dollars is fine, but I would suggest changing some USD for pesos when you get here. Here is the link to the best exchange spot we know of & it’s 5-10 mins from the airport https://maps.app.goo.gl/Mzz9EG34RfczZNMa6

  5. Transportation?? Uber works in the city and it’s easy to uber from your airbnb back to the airport, but it is really hard to get an uber from the airport upon arrival (you have to pretend you know them or walk a little bit). Do not rent super cheap cars online, I would rent in person or through official sites for companies you already know (there are many fake websites hackers make. If the price seems too good to be true, it’s not real!).

  6. What should I pack? Insulated water bottles, bathing suits, sunglasses, warm weather clothing, & sandals that can get wet.

Español

  1. Preguntas frecuentes sobre la boda:

      No :)
